YOJ 2011 – Carol Ladine – Wk 8, Gods & Goddesses: Freya

I was sorta stumped with this weeks theme but after reading about the Goddess Freya and going through some of my stash I decided on making this lovely cameo into a pendant in her honor. The flowers of course for Freya’s love of them and the cat represents the cats that pulled her chariot.

YOJ 2011 - Wk 7 - Something to talk about

This week I’m experimenting. Took some 18ga Antiqued Brass square wire and pounded some of it and twisted some of it. Sorta manipulated into a free form shape then added small ice blue faceted briolettes. For now just using a pretty blue ribbon to hang it from. It's pretty good size at 1 7/8" by 3 1/2" total length.

YOJ Week 6, Amore, Double Hearts

A hammered copper heart suspended below a cute Tiger stripe glass bead heart. The curled wire at the bottom of the bead is what holds the copper heart below. The top two pieces of the copper heart are wired together under the curl. Width is 1 1/4″ and length is 2 3/4″.

YOJ - Wk 5 - Down and Dirty

Got this completed at the last minute just about. It's a rather large Turquoise Briolette with a surround or frame of coiled copper. The pendant measures about 1 1/4" by 2" and the chain, handcrafted by myself is about 20" long. This looks great with high neck and turtle neck sweaters. I used some older copper that had a natural patina.
